Suzhou-produced Legal Mini Series Zui Zhong De Zhen Xiang (The Final Truth) Premieres on December 23

The 8-episode legal-themed mini series Zui Zhong De Zhen Xiang (The Final Truth), a joint creation produced by the Xiangcheng District Justice Bureau of Suzhou and Suzhou Radio and Television Station, has been selected as an "Outstanding Work" in the "2025 Suzhou Mini Series High-Quality Creation and Promotion Program." Organized by the Suzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the program evaluated submissions through expert review and supervisory panels, ultimately selecting 10 "Outstanding Works" and 5 shortlisted titles. The year 2025 marks the fifth anniversary of the implementation of China's Civil Code. From December 23 to 26, the 8-episode mini series Zui Zhong De Zhen Xiang is set to release on multiple platforms including the Kan Suzhou APP, Su Zhou Dao APP, the Farun Xiangcheng official WeChat account, and the Zhoudao Youyue video channel.

Zui Zhong De Zhen Xiang skillfully weaves the judicial and administrative functions of Xiangcheng, public legal service resources, and the profound city's cultural heritage into its narrative framework. In terms of spatial scene layout, the series presents an ingenious blend of modern cityscapes, the gentle elegance of Jiangnan landscapes, and poetic rural scenery. Through the series, viewers are invited to experience both the district's rule-of-law environment and its distinctive cultural character, allowing the Civil Code's role as an "encyclopedia of social life" to resonate with Xiangcheng's ethos of valuing virtue and upholding the rule of law.  Zui Zhong De Zhen Xiang narrates more than just a dispute over inheritance, it explores the rediscovery of family bonds. While there may be multiple wills, it is the unspoken care, hidden sacrifices, and belated understanding among family members that constitute the real "final truth" that needs to be seen. This mini series is both a vivid lesson on civil law and a mirror reflecting contemporary families.

Zhangjiajie Holds Coordination Meeting to Advance Mini Series Industry Development

On December 22, Liu Ge'an, Secretary of the Zhangjiajie Municipal Committee of the CPC, chaired a coordination meeting on the development of the city's mini series industry. The meeting reviewed progress made in previous stages, examined current key challenges in industrial development, and outlined priority tasks for the next phase. Liu Ge'an pointed out that market demand for mini series continues to grow, with  broad development prospects ahead. Zhangjiajie possesses distinctive natural landscapes, abundant filming locations, a steady influx of cultural tourism, and strong international visibility, giving it strong comparative advantages for developing the mini series industry. Relevant departments at all levels were urged to further unify their understanding, strengthen confidence, and effectively transform resource advantages into industrial development momentum. Efforts should be made to foster industrial clustering in the mini series sector, develop distinctive features, and build a strong brand in Zhangjiajie.

Liu Ge'an stressed the importance of clear strategic positioning, with a focus on "cultural export," and of targeting competitive niche areas while promoting the coordinated development of both long-form and short-form dramas. It is essential to accelerate the  establishment of a comprehensive industrial support system covering creation, filming, production services, and related links, in order to accelerate the agglomeration of industry resources. Efforts must be made to complete shortcomings in hardware facilities and professional support services, solidify the foundation for industrial growth. Concrete implementation measures should be advanced promptly by accelerating the establishment of dedicated industry promotion service agencies, strengthening policy research and formulation, and in line with local conditions in Zhangjiajie to introduce concrete support measures in areas such as administrative approval, financial support, talent recruitment and cultivation.

In addition, Liu highlighted the importance of the deep integration and mutual empowerment of the mini series industry with the city's overall cultural tourism promotion efforts. Active cooperation with renowned domestic and international platforms, production institutions, and industry associations should be pursued, with a focus on promoting industrial clustering, to build Zhangjiajie into a distinctive and influential highland for mini series creation and an industrial cluster.

Breaking Out in the Wave of High-Quality Short Dramas: Actress Sun Yiran Looks Ahead and Continues to Move Forward

In the first half of 2025, actress Sun Yiran became a household name with the hit short drama Jia Li Jia Wai (My Sweet Home), which is performed in the Sichuan–Chongqing dialect. The resilient, kind-hearted, and brave "wild woman" Cai Xiaoyan in the drama left a deep impression on many viewers. By the end of the year, two new works, Jia Li Jia Wai 2 (My Sweet Home 2) and Zhang Shang Qi Mei (Aligned Reverence) were released. Sun Yiran not only successfully portrayed the character of Cai Xiaoyan over a span of more than twenty years, bringing the "immortal mother" to life in the second half of her life with vivid realism, but also played the role of the resolute noblewoman Su Jinyuan, who seeks rebirth and revenge. At the inaugural China Mini Series Festival hosted by CMG, she received the Annual Best Actress Award. Her emotional words, "The 9 seconds I spent walking onto the stage took me 9 years," touched many hearts.

Sun Yiran shared the joys and tears of her dream-chasing journey: her experiences and growth from studying in Shanghai, her moments of wondering and self-encouragement during times with no roles to play, and the perseverance to constantly refine her acting even after sudden fame. This hardworking girl, who spends her days working non-stop and uses "napping in between" as a way to decompress, proves with sincerity and persistence that—passion can withstand the long passage of time.

Sun Yiran said, "I'm very lucky that when I first started acting in short dramas, I got the chance to work on a high-quality project like Jia Li Jia Wai. The script and team from Heard Island were very dedicated, allowing me to immerse myself in the role from the start and create in a great atmosphere. If I had to mention the difference, I'd say that short dramas have a faster pace, so you need to show emotional changes in a shorter time—you can't just act out the result, you also need to present the emotional progression." The trend towards high-quality short dramas is becoming more apparent. In the face of increasing competition, Sun Yiran believes the market is indeed improving, with more people willing to produce high-quality projects, and actors now have more choices. "While it's a good thing, it also brings pressure," she said. "My biggest challenge at the moment is choosing the best scripts and teams to create another vivid and memorable character like Cai Xiaoyan."
