On December 8, the Micro-Short Drama Overseas Conference of the 7th Hainan Island International Film Festival was held in Lingshui, Hainan. Industry leaders from major platforms and production companies active in global mini series distribution, along with scholars and experts, gathered to witness the release of multiple new achievements and key projects in the mini series sector. Together, they explored trends, pathways, and prospects for the international expansion of Chinese mini series.
The event highlighted that mini series, as an innovative form born from the deep integration of audiovisual arts and mobile internet in the new era, are increasingly becoming a fresh medium for telling Chinese stories and sharing Chinese culture with the world. With global markets offering vast potential, the industry is encouraged to prioritize content quality, technological empowerment, and emotionally resonant storytelling, promoting a shift from "volume-driven export" to "premium-driven export," and achieving a balance between social impact and market value.
Ten institutions—including COL Group, Dianzhong Tech, Maiya Media, the Asia-Africa Center of China Media Group, Jiuzhou Culture, Migu Digital Media, Huace Film & TV, Rongliang Micro Drama, Mango Excellent Media, and Shanhai Xingchen—were recognized as "Mini Series Overseas Institutional Research Cases."
Ten works—Xiao Shi De Chu Shen (Mater Chef), You Se Yi Ren (The Beauty of Glaze), Xiang Ge Li La Xia Xue Le Ma (The Summer Secret In Shangri-La), Fu Mu Ai Qing Zhi Zai Xu Qian Yuan (Love of Parents: Reunion), San Jing Hu Tong De Xia Tian (The Summer of West Beijing), Ai Zai A Ba (Love in Aba), Mei Hou Wang (The Monkey King), Wo Zai Di Bai Deng Ni (Love in Dubai), Qu Tao Hua Sheng Kai De Di Fang (To the Land of Peach Blossoms), and Jin Bo Qi Yuan (Legend of the Gold Foil)—were selected as "Research Cases of Mini Series for Overseas Communication."

On December 5, 2025, the "2025 DataEye Annual Global Expansion Conference" was held in Guangming District, Shenzhen, attracting over 300 mini series enterprises from across the country. The conference focused on exchanges on industry policies, overseas expansion trends, and resourc matching for mini series, further promoting the ecological development and international layout of Shenzhen's mini series industry. For the first time, Shenzhen's policy innovations and industry layout in the mini series field were systematically showcased. Shenzhen is constructing a full-process service system covering script filing, content review, copyright transactions, public filming venue bookings, and filming coordination, providing support to enterprises by reducing production costs and improving approval efficiency.
Relevant departments of Guangming District introduced that, leveraging its "science + ecology" advantages, the district has attracted over a hundred film and television-related enterprises, built multiple specialized shooting bases, and boasts more than 200 natural, cultural, and scientific education shooting resources, meeting the diverse filming needs of various mini series productions. During the event, seventeen key mini series projects were signed, covering areas such as topic development, production cooperation, and industrial base co-construction. This will further strengthen Shenzhen's clustering effect and industry influence in the overseas expansion of mini series.

On December 9, the "Ice and Snow Fusion Ignites the 'Ice Super League'–Heilongjiang Province's 'Follow Mini Series to Exercise' Creation Plan and Key Series List Release, and the Launch Ceremony for Filming of Twins Stars on Ice" took place in Harbin. The event aims to thoroughly implement the national strategy of "engaging 300 million People in ice and snow sports," while exploring innovative pathways for the deep integration of sports, culture, tourism, and new media. During the event, Heilongjiang Province's "Follow Mini Series to Exercise" creation plan was officially launched. The plan focuses on three main areas: popularizing ice and snow sports, showcasing high-quality sporting events, and promoting the integrated development of "sports + culture and tourism." It seeks to establish mini series as a new engine for expanding nationwide participation in ice and snow sports.
Leveraging Heilongjiang's profound ice and snow heritage and the foundation of grassroots ice and snow activities such as "Million Youths on Ice and Snow" and the "Ice Super League," the plan aims to drive transition from virtual scene to actual offline participation through content creation, ignite enthusiasm for participation through storytelling, and allow audiences to experience the charm of ice and snow through "small but beautiful" mini series, inspiring them to embrace the sport, truly achieving "watch a series, fall in love with a sport."
The key series list announced at the event included Bing Shang Shuang Zi Xing as the first production to commence. The series, jointly produced by Harbin Broadcasting and TV Station, Migu Digital Media Co., Ltd., and Beijing Yicheng Tianxia Technology Co., Ltd., is based on real competition scenes and intricately portrays the athletes' growth and fighting spirit. In the future, mini series such as Re Xue Bing Qiu Xiao Jiang and Hua Yang Nian Hua will be released, forming a "Trilogy of Ice and Snow Sports Mini Series" covering short track speed skating, ice hockey, and figure skating, systematically showcasing the landscape of Heilongjiang's winter sports and the city's core spirit.

Recently, four short films with distinct styles—Hou Niao Ren, Fen Mo, Lao Die De Mian Zi Zhang, and Zai Jian Dong Yong—incubated under Jiangsu Province's Yancheng "Unknown Exploration Program" were publicly screened at the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival. This "Unknown Exploration Program" is a creative practice initiative jointly launched by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Film Art Center, the Jiangsu Film Group, the Golden Rooster Films Project Market, and the Publicity Department of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee. The initiative actively explores innovative collaboration between "film + cultural tourism" through talent selection with short film creation. The first phase focuses on the theme of "City Stories in Light and Shadow: Yancheng Chapter."

AI Large Models and Time-Travel Mini Series Bring Precision and Fun to National Fitness
On December 7, at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guangxi, Li Xueying, a tourist from Wuhan, experienced a dynamic gait detection system. The AI large model she experienced was the CISS NationFit AI National Fitness Model Agent, which made its global debut at the 3rd China-ASEAN International Conference on Physical Fitness and Health Promotion. As an important event under the framework of the 2025 ASEAN-CHINA Year of People-to-People Exchanges, the conference attracted nearly thousands of experts and scholars from China and abroad, with discussions focused on physical fitness evaluation, scientific exercise, data sharing, and artificial intelligence, further deepening regional cooperation in sports science and technology.
Cao Jingwei, director of the China Institute of Sport Science, noted that China has built a four-level national physical fitness monitoring network. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China implemented a series of policy initiatives to advance nationwide fitness efforts. Over the next five years, China will carry out regular annual monitoring of national physical fitness and surveys on public exercise participation, continuing to provide the public with physical fitness testing and scientific exercise guidance services.
